I’ve struggled with back pain for quite a long time. Going to the chiropractor and getting massages were great short term solutions, but the pain always came back. I now incorporate a good stretching and strengthening routine into my day and that has significantly improved my back. It can be hard for some to know the right types of movement to overcome any type of injury.
Hey Johan, back pain of any level is never easy to deal with. Chiropractors and Massages work well like you said but yes they are short term relief solutions…Next thing you know you’re back getting them again and spending TONS of money. Stretching and strengthening in the long-run are the best solutions as long as they are targeted. A small simple routine in the morning as well all parts of the day go a long ways to providing you faster and long-term relief.
Discipline and good habits are the key to it, but sadly too many suffer from this and many don’t like to change. Where most people get it wrong is just thinking general exercises/stretches will work but everyone is different, and not most medical professionals will show you how to fix your muscle imbalances. I enjoyed reading your article! When I was 15, I popped out a rib and it never got put back in place (I thought I just pulled a muscle). It’s a whole different world when we’re younger like in our teens and early adulthood that we get an injury of some sort but we don’t always second guess it. You are very welcome. Yeah, I can relate on the sports side of things, it can be a real problem if left untreated or not treated properly. I’m sorry to hear that. I can’t say how to approach it until I know EXACTLY the type of pain you’re in(diagnosis) and on what level, but you are doing the right thing by constantly stretching and staying as active as you can with exercising. It’s important to slowly build your way back up that way you don’t cause further damage thus more pain and inflammation.
It also depends on the type of stretches you’re doing. Which ones are they?
